Technically functional, but sterile and completely without stakes
Polimines is a technically functional puzzle game that unfortunately feels more like a newspaper sudoku than an actual video game. The complete absence of music creates a sterile atmosphere that drains any potential enjoyment from the experience. While the puzzles themselves present a decent challenge, the game fails to create any sense of stakes or consequence for poor performance. There’s no real penalty system or progression that makes you feel invested in doing well. What could have been an engaging puzzle experience instead feels like low-effort filler content. The lack of audio design, meaningful game mechanics, and rewarding feedback loops left me thoroughly disappointed. I’d recommend looking elsewhere if you want a puzzle game that actually feels worth your time.
